2019 Season at our Cottages in the Cotswolds

The amazing summer of 2018 seems a long time ago now but the 2019 Season is well and truly here so is my first post of this year. We really look forward to welcoming lots of visitors again to enjoy the peace and quiet of King John’s Cottages in the Cotswolds and make the most of being able to sit outside and admire the views and the amazing sunsets that we have.

The Gallery

Due to a water leak in The Gallery some of my guests who stayed in September and October had to move into Oak Tree Cottage.  I thank you all for your patience during that tricky time.  Some guests were not so lucky having booked both cottages together and had to cancel their stay.  However, I am pleased to say that the drying out has now been completed and the work to reinstate the bedroom and shower room begins this week.  We are therefore going to be ready and able to welcome all of you who are already booked in and can reopen bookings for The Gallery from the end of the month.  Remember that we allow dogs to stay in The Gallery which works for those guests who prefer a dog free cottage (Oak Tree) and also prevents strange dogs having to holiday next door to each other.

Exciting News

Looking forward I have some exciting news regarding the old Farmhouse.  We have started renovation work and aim to be able to offer King John’s Palace here in the Cotswolds for large groups of friends and families later on this year.  This was a Royal Hunting Lodge used by Henry VIII amongst many other kings and queens who visited.  There is a unique Tudor wing with carved stonework and windows.  You will be able to tread where Royalty once trod and sleep where Royalty slept.  Watch this space for updates and follow me on twitter or facebook to keep in touch.
